little or no use is BS. I can see the hone wear, and although not bad its obvious it was more than a couple times. does the seller do mainly razors? if so front them, small community, nobody will buy from them.

eBay My World - lorenrice
that's her... it looks like she doesn't do many razors. i guess i'm just 'lucky' to get the one she did sell. looks like i'll be the first one to give negative feedback too.
dang i'm ****ed... now i'll be thinking about this s--t till i get my money back or whatever happens when i do the "resolution" thing.

The edge on that doesn't look so bad to me; re-establish a clean bevel and it should be fine. I got a razor that the tip had chipped off of, so I just rounded it. It still works great.

She doesnt know what you're talking about. To a woman, if the razor doesnt have half of the bade missing it is in good condition.
Insurance is never necessary - unless you have an invoice to show USPS, they wont give you the insured amount just because you paid for it. Read the fine print!

Thanked: 953that doesn't look too bad to me either but pictures never tell the whole story with razors, and if she didn't give you what you paid for you should go to conflict resolution - and stop worrying about it in the meantime or you will drive yourself crazy. I also wouldn't get too personal - people that aren't into razors really don't understand what they are selling, so getting yourself upset isn't good for you and is like getting made a rock for being hard - she probably wasn't lying, she just doesn't get razors and never will.
I've had mixed luck with ebay, but never felt screwed, and sometimes felt lucky. I got a beautiful henckels really cheap where the seller over-sold a couple of scratches on what was really an immaculate blade. I got a razor where they said it looked like it hadn't been used, and it looked that way in the picture, but it had clearly been used (was way too sharp among other things) and in fact had a ding on the spine. Having said that, I didn't see the ding for a couple days myself so I didn't blame them for not seeing it [and when I really looked for it in their picture I could see it], and it shaved beautifully and was probably worth the $30 I paid for it so i didn't sweat it. I just bought a wusthof I felt I was overpaying for and maybe i did - it has some pitting I didn't see in the pic - but the blade, particularly the spine and edge, is in better condition than showed in the pic (it was filthy and once cleaned up looks pretty nice), and in fact looks like it was never used but just was stored without protection from the elements, and the fitting is tight and perfect contrary to what I suspected, so it will probably be a better shaver than I thought, so on balance I'm happy. And a couple times I've gotten mildly mildly warped scales, in each case with absolutely perfect blades, and a little oil has help realign the scales over time. And most of the time I got EXACTLY what I thought I was buying.
I think with ebay you have to be a little zen about it - you just can't get the certainty you can get in person, you can hedge that with questions, and sometimes you do better than you thought and sometimes worse. And when you really get tooled, you should do what you are doing and pursue resolution, but don't let it bug you or you'll just ruin your own day.

Look, regardless of how the razor looks to everyone- it was not as described. Yes it has been used and it is fairly obvious IMO. I don't know anything about antique plates but if they had old food crumbs and scratches, I wouldn't say they were unused or call them mint.
Cornelius' point is valid though that she probably would think it looked unused even without scales. To me, the edge is messed up towards the toe. Looks 'toothy' and unshaveable. Now I would not expect most razors from eBay to be shave ready, but you have a valid claim. Go to the resolution center and make sure to say you want your shipping $ back too. Too few people write accurate descriptions. As a community you would do us a service to report this.

Go thru the process as it is 'Significantly not as described'
There is considerable wear as the blade is almost flush with the rear flanges.
If she claims it's a different razor there should be some marks to disprove that.
One warning tho - don't send it back till you have a refund. I sent an item back once on Paypal's instructions & seller never refunded me. Also if they clear their account Paypal has no access to their money. Hope you have more luck than me.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

While I hope everything works out for you I notice that everyone is making the statement that the blade is different than what was described. The blade was never described as "un-used", she said the blade showed "little to no use."
As far as I can see in yours and her pictures that is true. I don't imagine the amount of work required to make this blade shave ready is significantly more than what you should have been expecting to do from the start with an ebay purchase. I go through the whole process of resetting the bevel on up regardless of how the edge looks because you just don't know the quality of the edge.
The problem is we as members of this community have a much better grasp on the quality issues that a casual seller. I don't think she was being misleading, the razor looks to be in good condition aside from the warpage and minor edge damage. To a non straight user that looks very much like "little to no use."
I think if you had paid less for the same razor described in the same way then there wouldn't be an issue.
If you get everything resolved that's awesome. I say hone that puppy up and enjoy it, from what I see it's not in all that bad of shape.
