Dude, look at the tree logo again. It's a 1924-1935 Boker. The blade looks just like a King Cutter with a different name.

I would tend to believe those dates to be more likely.

well I'm going to jump on the bandwagon here (or perhaps I started it) and say that those scales clearly look 1900-1950.

    context grasshopper context
the scales clearly date that razor
they say "Duc" or "C-Mon" or "Clauss" to me

perhaps we could look into when Boker started adding #s to the tang
Henckel did the same, when did they start?

That's one beautiful razor. If you can afford to spend that kind of money more power to you. Nice grab!!!

I'm thinking perhaps one of the first razors of this Brand because of the tree symbol design and "tree Brand" markings on the scales. I've never seen a H. Boker like this. Anyone know?

Looks nice, although used and possibly restored. Clearer pics would help.
Auctions with poor quality pics like this will rarely see a 3 figure bid from me. I always think the seller is showing fuzzy pics on puropse ( to hide something).

Check this link for decent pics: Vintage George Johnson & Co. Straight Razor + Case - eBay (item 290322517284 end time Jun-11-09 15:56:36 PDT)

Granted ... not the best razor, but this seller really wants to sell this blade IMO because they took the time to photograph carefully aaannnnnddd they show all of the important parts of the razor clearly. Heck, I can get good photos from my cell phone if I take an extra 15 seconds to do it right.

If I wanted this razor, I would have a go at it for $125 max. To me, thats all it is really worth.

But maybe thats why I dont win many auctions ... lol.

Not a big fan of the gold wash, though. It doesnt help me shave any closer hahaha.

Seriously though ... for the price you paid for that Boker, you could have a nice brand new razor, honing, strop, etc ... with cash left over to take your lady out for drinks.

Plus, I dont consider Bokers to be super rare. I could be wrong with this statement, though. Remember, I am not an expert... but thats what I think about your auction winnings.

Noted. I am usually very frugal when it concerns spending but I think I've developed somewhat of a secret vintage straight razor obsession. But do not fret. I can afford it and also to continue taking my girlfriends out to nice restaurants for drinks and other goodies. But i do appreciate all of the feedback with its valid points.

If you can afford that for an eBay boker, I'd suggest getting a custom Livi, some Japanese stones, and then flying Lynn to your house to show you how to use everything.

Ofcoarse i can handle the livi and the stones if I was interested in those sorts of things. But why fly lynn in with a GREAT forum like this? I have everything i need here to help " Hone" my hobby. If i did'nt know any better I'd think you were trying to sass me with those comments pilgrim. kinda sounds like sour grapes.

Yeah, I'm being a smart aleck... All in good fun. No sour grapes here, I didn't have anything invested in this. do think you seriously overpaid, but the razor looks pretty.
