I will throw in my opinion... and I HOPE, if the seller is a member here, please don’t feel I am out to mess-up your day or criticizing your efforts… we all benefit from collective ideas and these are just mine… so apologies in advance.

    1) Photos are too few and too small… if you want to sell a vintage item then post as many large, high quality photos you are allowed… if I am not mistaken, multiple photos are free on eBay for collectibles so make full use of it.

    2) Starting may bid too high… even for a Duble Duck… sure it may be worth much more than $25, but collectors and bidders for straight razors are sometimes skittish when it comes to a high starting bid… So let’s compare to another auction going on right now:

VINTAGE DUBL DUCK GOLDEDGE PEARLDUCK STRAIGHT RAZOR - eBay (item 400068048764 end time Aug-23-09 19:00:21 PDT)
In this other auction, the blade is in a deplorable state because the scales are gassing (celluloid rot)… but guess what… starting bid was $9, and with just 3 bids is now over $50… almost unbelievable..

    3) Nitpicking… but shipping may be a bargain @ $6… again have a look at the other auction; shipping is only $3... both shipped Priority Mail?

    4) Presentation, if you believe your item is worth “something” then give the buyer some eye-candy, it’s his hard earned money… you have to give up something first… Think about it… Why do you think cars with pretty women standing nearby are usually sold before the ones without the pretty women?

There is more but I believe other may add there comments.
