Funny, but I am wondering when this bubble will burst...

I still have a handfull of NOS Wapi's. I'm waiting for them to breach $100 consistently on ebay before I auction them off. ha. as if.

If things continue, at some point in time I think I might have to get an apprasial of my blades for insurance purposes.

Seriously though...........what "bubble"???? I don't comb the Bay daily and my RAD is essentially in remission, but are prices really crazy right now? Compared to 1-2 years ago?? I think the "bubble" burst last year IMO. I'd actually love others to tell me otherwise since if prices are CRAZY I can say with certainty I'd be culling my small collection and listing on Ebay right quick.

I'm missing something or not seeing the same and apparently consistent auctions you guys are.

Sorry Lynn, we seem to have a different sense of humour. Never mind, in no way did I try to offend you. Please accept my apologies if I did.

I think it depends. Certain sellers such as Altima55 and Cedarfurnitureman develop followings because they consistently have great stuff and all of their razors really are shave ready if they say they are.

Then there are the one shot bidding wars like the recent W&B that went north of $500. Razors that get talked up in the forum can increase in value for awhile.

I was seeing Kissing Cranes at reasonable prices but with the new club and guys talking about the great shaves they are getting that sleeper could become a high dollar item like some of the Dubl Ducks.

There is one Solingen marque that is relatively obscure and I search for it and buy any that come up. I will never tell anyone which it is because I don't need any more competition than I already have.

OTOH, once some of us that collect beyond what we need get a representative piece we are out of the game.

For instance I have a Wonderedge, Goldedge , Lifetime and a 8/8 W&B for barber's only. I am one less guy who will drive the bidding on any of those. For the poor soul that needs three of every tang stamp my heart goes out to you.

It is amazing how we have single handedly driven up the prices to some ridiculous amounts

Mr EBay and Mr Paypal, thanks for the ride but it's over! It's been quite a while since I visited Mr EBay and Mr Paypal except for a couple of extremely low purchases. I've found a few new mistresses that have gained my attention. They are antique shops and flea markets! Much better prices!

I promised myself that after this weekend I would dismiss these mistresses and see if they still look interesting come spring. Now, thanks to a phone call over the weekend and cooler temperatures just around the corner, I will be courting a couple of new mistresses named buff and polish. Dang it! Some day this will end and I will be on to a completely new AD, but it doesn't look like it will be any time soon.

PM me when it does. I may still be caught up in RAD and I'll help you out with your new AD by taking some of the old one off your hands.

Other than a few pieces such as meat choppers, certain duks I think the prices are far more reasonable now than they were a year ago. I think right now its just a few "collectibles" that are out of line.
