But see, you ARE on your way to some new acquisition disorders since you've mentioned you've met Ms. Buff and Ms. Polish. Next thing you know you'll be more interested in working on acquiring shop equipment, etc. That's been my cure for RAD. If I had to choose between bidding on another razor or instead using the money to purchase the materials to erect a 9' high x 21" long wall to once and for all enclose my shop area, razor schmazor. At this point I want to make meself a shaving tool rather than buy another one; unless of course the deal I see (like you at antique shops, etc) is just too good to pass up!

I promised myself that after this weekend I would dismiss these mistresses and see if they still look interesting come spring. Now, thanks to a phone call over the weekend and cooler temperatures just around the corner, I will be courting a couple of new mistresses named buff and polish. Dang it! Some day this will end and I will be on to a completely new AD, but it doesn't look like it will be any time soon.

I hear you.... all my money has been going into materials for fixing razors, rather than buying nice finished ones. I haven't bought a blade for more than $20, excepting one big W&B, and they're all rusted....

But I have noticed the Dubl Duck prices slipping since I joined here.... mayhap I'll be able to afford a "For Barber's Use" someday....
Until then, ebay is off limits for me!

No don't be, I am proud of mine too and will post pix in the club thread when I get off of my lazy duff and do it. Should be sooner than later.

Thanks for the help Chris. The problem is that I have a bunch of shop equipment already. I just never really liked buffing and polishing metal. Time to bite the bullet and just do it. By other AD I meant be satisfied with were I am with straights and get into the next what ever. The problem is that with my tool and die back ground I keep finding myself planning the methods to make a complete razor from scratch. I just don't have the funding available to go there yet. Maybe I can job out some of the bull work. I know a few people with machine shops and have other contacts with shops but now is not the time.

Well, its a good thing I have all the razors I'll ever need at this point so I'll never be buying anymore. Har-Har.

Oh and if you guys see me bidding on an item on Eboy don't even bother putting in a bid. No one out bids Thebigspendur.

but we don't want that! at lease i don't!

Thx! It is also been nice to discover step by step this "new world" to me! ..and also SRP members..before this..shaving was quite BORING! I skip it as long as i could! Now i just want my beard to grow faster

But returning to subject....the "ebay issue" its a consequence of our "actions", because of them our friends - and the friends.. friends -are also embrassing this shaving culture! Speaking for myself, of course, im getting almost all of my friends to Str8 shaving..i just show them a couple of razors..and BANG!!..they immediatly get the RAD!!..and the place for them?:..EBAY!! So.. sorry for my fault in the subject!

I was thinking about that when I saw that thread asking what a Bresduck Napoleon looks like. If someone puts one on ebay everybody may as well go to a movie that night 'cause there ain't no point in bidding on it.

A few months ago, filarmonicas were rare on ebay, now they outnumber the dubl ducks. They're just the trend of the month. Don't expect that to last forever.
