OK, so I'm not getting this one...the seller contacted me and tried to tell me that shipping was $25...and that international flat rate shipping would be more. Which is just a flat out lie, unless this razor weighs 3 pounds or something. I would have paid extra for shipping but not to someone who's trying to pull a fast one.
She said she'd be relisting, so if you want it it'll be there, I guess.

Yup, it's item 360194017907 for any interested parties. I saw her listed and came straight to this thread to see what the deal was. She's still listed as stainless...

Thanked: 953Good. You can do much better than that. I got one with that shape that was virtually untouched (though it had oxidation) and scales in great shape for $42 I think. But main thing is to get one in better shape than that, because better to spend a couple extra bucks for one you'll enjoy.
So many W&B wedges on the bay that you can do very well on price if you are patient, and don't need to settle for one with a ragged edge like that.

Thanked: 235I hate it when ebay sellers try to make extra money on the side by jacking up the postage cost. Then don't realise we have bought razors before and know what postage should cost.

See, she put $12 as a shipping flat rate herself, didn7t even use the calculator--which is fine, that's the USPS international flat rate. Then she emailed me and said when she went to the PO the shipping was $25. I emailed back and said "That's odd, the USPS International Flat Rate should be right at $12." Her response was "The International Flat Rate would have been a lot higher than $25, $25 is the First Class International rate".
Which is pure and utter BS...so transaction canceled, no tears shed. There will be more big Sheffield wedges...

FYI Jim - there are three different "flat rate boxes" at the post office. The SMALL flat rate box is $12.95 international, and that's the one she should have used. If she tried to ship priority in a regular boring box that wasn't specially marked "PRIORITY FLAT RATE" then it easily could have been $25.
There's also two bigger boxes that are more, the MEDIUM and LARGE flat rate box.
She's just inexperienced in international shipping, that's all.
You'll find a better one soon.

I too was looking at this razor long ago. But I passed. I was thinking- I had to do a lot of breadknifing to get the chip out, than the new bevel (that I couldn't make, cause I'm a newb at honing) would get into and remove some of the etching.

I offered the seller $15 or something low, and they countered with $25 (+$6.50). So... Good deal or not?
