Years ago I never worried about buying on ebay but in the last year I've been stiffed twice with PayPaL picking up the bill. Things have gone downhill for sure and frankly EBay isn't doing well policing sellers. The last one that did me in also took 94 others for a ride before being cut off by EBay.
On the other hand two weeks is about right from overseas. When I buy from Manah he ships fast but it still takes 9 or 10 days at least.
    Good luck !

I think your misunderstanding Nelson. I'm not complaining that I didn't receive it yet, I realize how long it takes to ship. I work for the U.S.Postal Service. The point I'm making is his lack of communication. As a seller, or vendor if you will. I pride myself, not only on a qualtiy product, but on timely communications. All I want is some form of assurance that he actually did mail it, that's all. He does not return my email, period...That's just bad business. It's been over 8 days since he received my money, not even, Ok, It's on it's way, or something...anything....

I did not read the previous posts, but if I were you I'd drop him an e-mail explaining how Paypal likes to protect its customers and may be he will reply then?

Finally heard from him. He said nothing about not answering for 8 days. Who knows...
Crisis Averted....Thanks for all your suggestions....

Guys, Lessons Learned here: If you sell something to someone, whether it's 10 dollars or 1000.00 dolllars, Send them confirmation email that you have their money, and will mail it. Then, once it's mailed, A notification. It only takes a second, and gives buyers piece of mind. Most established Vendors online already do this. Remember, we're not talking about shipping times, we're talking about communication....

I heard from him right after the sale, and he told me he would ship them out Registered Int'l mail. I said, fine. Now, it's going on 9 days, and I haven't heard SH*T. I'm getting a tad concerned. Well, at least I paid with Paypal, so I am protected. How long would you wait before contacting Paypal. I not even sure how long Paypal will make me wait. The vendor does not return my repeated attempts to contact him which is BS and bad business. Maybe he's tied up, but who goes that long without checking email, especially if your a vendor....?
i thought pp makes you wait 14 days...

Zib, give it two full weeks. Any and all mail between Europe and I has always been that long. Take it easy and I'm sure you'll get your stuff

Unfortunately, some people are just bad about communication. I've paid, received the item, left feedback for the seller, and still never heard anything from the seller. Sometimes I don't ever get return feedback.

I've also had buyers who never let me know when they receive an item.

Personally, I contact buyers when I receive payment to let them know when I think I'll have whatever it is in the mail (usually a day or two) and then again when I have shipped whatever it is.

+1. Lack of communication = Lack of professionalism.

International shipping is a real crap shoot sometimes. Doesn't seem to make any difference what direction things move either. I've noticed that the worst times seem to happen to and from Turkey and eastern European countries. I always allow 20 days before I start to get nervous.

But with that said, the fact that a seller won't respond to email sure will make one twitchy especially when it's a $500 silence. It may simply be that the seller has a broken computer, gone off on holiday, or some other innocent reason. Remember that we tend to view the idea of professionalism based upon our own set of ethics. Someone from any number of other nations could see things in an entirely different but honest way. This one may have shipped your box and then gone off on vacation using your funds - but still shipped your blades.

On the other hand you may simply have been hosed. Chances are that all will turn out just fine, but after 20 days I'd sure start to initiate something with PP.
