Man, those Joseph Rodgers are beautiful! My favorite/most used razor is a 6/8 Rodgers; that set puts it to shame!

My mistake on the amount. The Rodgers are killer. Here is another shot at that link and if it doesn't get you there the item # is 220504773049 .

Thanked: 125That link worked Jimmy!
Nice set, same style as the W&B set also.
Maybe if I have some extra cash, and a dedicated buyer, I could go buy the set and get some pics up for you all to see.

Is the set in the same condition as the Rodgers ? Little or no hone wear ? Are they 6/8 ? Any etching ? Usual W&B stamping ? Is the case oak or is it leather covered with the company logo on the inside of the lid ? Just curious as I don't have the funds right now even if I wanted it. With more details you may get a dedicated buyer even without pics.

Thanked: 125Ok, so I stopped by the shop this morning on my way into work and took some notes on the W&B set... A note on the handle says "Circa 1850" So, I'm guessing set is from the mid 1800's
Handle:
Ivory. Excellent condition. I noticed a tiny little chip, but nothing serious at all.
Wedge is a dull colored lead/steel piece. Pins are brass.
The "Tang" or rather the part that the blades connect to has a little button which you press to release the blade.
Blades:
The spines are all etched with the day of the week right in the center of the spine. To the left and right of the spine are floral/vine patterns which are etched in silver All blade edges are in perfect condition, no chips. Also, there was almost no hone wear, but to be safe I'll say there was minimal. The blades looked as if they had never been honed.
Each blade has mild black streaks/stains, i guess thats called patina? IDK. Its not serious, but its noticeable. No rust at all.
Blade faces read:
Celebrated Fine India
Steel Ready for use
Tang reads:
Manufactured by
Wade & Butcher
Sheffield
Both the tang and the blade face are etched, the tang in blackish brown, the face in silver etching.
Back of blade:
Plain mirror finish, no etching or engraving
Also, the case is black thin leather with gold etching around the top. Red velvetty interior. Great condition.
I'd be happy to answer any additional questions.Last edited by sapito318; 11-06-2009 at 08:00 PM.

Thanks for the info. Did you happen to notice whether the case was marked on the inside of the lid with Wade & Butcher ? It would usually be in gold printing IME. Also do the blades and the handle fit in the case so perfectly that the case appears to be original to the set ?

Thanked: 125Jimmy,
I do not recall if there were any markings on the inside lid. There is gold printing on the top though, although nothing that says Wade & Butcher.
As per the case looking original, I would have to say yes. The case fits the blade attachments perfectly, and the handle also sits snugly up in the front. I would say that it is the original case.
