I don't think there is anything wrong with the sellers. They simply want to get as much money for their items as possible.
Same with the buyers, they want to get the items for as little money as possible, so when they buy that 10"x2.5" Escher with perfect labels for $5 they're not doing anything bad.

O tempora o mores. With the price like that i could get my family to a holiday in a sun for one week or more, shave with yellow Bic and be happy to give them a nice time away from the cold. Not too many years ago you could find these razors for USD 20-30.
Actually it is sad. If the prices of the hype brands are getting that high, then other brands will follow, at least for some. Little by little straight razor shaving will turn into elitist kindergarden play, with (nowadays too familiar) psychedelic illusion where one who has most money gets the best results. Having a razor to lift your social status?
Everyday Joe can't afford it any more and he doesn't even want as he thinks that DD's, Pumas or Fillys or any razor that costs at least hundreds are the only decent razors worth shaving with.Last edited by Sailor; 02-21-2011 at 07:13 PM.

Thanked: 5I don't think he had the video in the original listing...or the mysterious Far East music. Such trappings come with a price tag....around $1050 it would seem. Besides that, there is very minimal pitting and staining and the decal is only partially worn off...hone wear at the nose is not too excessive. How could you expect to buy a razor like that for $149.99 in todays crazy market???

This just in:
Ebay: 110652094920, that Puma was used by Eva Braun to shave her armpits in 1943 and then wiped put away in a vault... until now!
You can not only shave with style, but you will be shaving with a piece of hirsute history.
Boy, do I wish I had $1,200 of disposable income to pick that blade up. Or pick 120 just as nice blades, or 300 fixer uppers, or pay the mortgage this month, or buy groceries for the next four months.
*sigh*

I respectfully beg to differ. There is something definitely wrong with a seller that puts up an item that is worth $150 with a price tag of $1,200.
Wouldn't you feel there's something wrong if you pull up to the gas station and the seller (of gas) wants $45 for a gallon? I mean, by your logic, he's just trying to get as much as he possibly can for his item/product. Or what about that nice flat screen at Sears? Wouldn't something be awfully wrong if they priced it at $35,000? No?
They are either incredibly naive and clueless, or they are fishing for a fool to pay that and set a precedent. Every time someone pays more than a razor is worth, it drives the prices of all other razors. For no good reason other than "someone is willing to pay". And I feel there's something intrinsically wrong with that.

Yes , but it's a "3 pin" , and it has a fancy tang . Maybe the seller forgot to put the decimal point in the price .

At one time if you charged more that 10% interest to someone you could get arrested and thrown in jail. Now Credit Card companies (for instance) can charge whatever they want. Is that wrong?
If you sell something I think you can charge whatever you want as long as you're not in collusion with others to control the market. The market will control the price in the end.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
