Here is the deal, I have been a buyer and seller on ebay since '99. I have 1379 positive feedbacks showing up front. In the early days repeat buyers or seller's feedback didn't show up front so my total is really much more. I've left 1,541 feedbacks for others. I've received 1,456. Then there are transactions where neither party left feedback. No telling how many of those.

Point is there are almost 100 people who I've left positive feedback for who did not reciprocate. This got my goat and I decided that I would not leave feedback for anyone until I first received it from them. Then ebay changed their feedback policy a couple of years ago. They now have a policy where the buyer can leave positive, neutral, or negative feedback but the seller can only leave positive feedback or none at all.

Now I've got 100% feedback in both roles. If I was dead set against leaving feedback first before I'm adamant about it now. I'll be damned if I'm going to leave a positive and then have some jerk leave me a negative as a follow up. Now that ebay changed the rules the feedback system is meaningless anyhow AFAIC.

If you've gotten this far, what do you think ? Leave feedback first or wait until you receive it ? Does it depend on whether you are a buyer or seller ? Inquiring minds want to know.
