Thanked: 0SonnyXYBoy,
Sorry for we didn`t understand on the first try that SonnyXYBoy is Thomas Herriger, the owner of Globusmen brand, which is now selling the old stock of some items. I`m going to buy the razor for EUR 169, and therefore I want to know something about this because they are looking nice to me. Also they are different from the other pics I saw.

Thanked: 9While I'm usually very trusting, I find it mighty strange that SonnyXYBoy has posted 4 times, and only within this topic.
As others have stated, identifying an unbranded razor is... difficult. I can't honestly say who produced that razor, but I'm also quite new to shaving.

Thomas Herriger is the Managing Director for Globusmann, according to this page: GLOBUSMANN - Ein Unternehmen der Herriger-Gruppe
Would he be selling razors with his company's name misspelled? I doubt it. But then again, the razors are historically stamped 'Globusmann' while the website is at 'globusman.com'. A quick email to [email protected] or call to the office at 0212-280 1 74 should clear this up. Unfortunately, I don't speak nor write German... would someone be able to do this?
If these razors are legit, and this really is Herriger, than he's a welcome addition to the community.
Edit: Looks like Globusmann is primarily interested in selling gigantic wooden balls these days. I was hoping to find pages of pretty razors to look at...Last edited by Caydel; 07-28-2011 at 12:59 AM.

Ok, sorry for adding some fuel to this earlier. If you look on this page, the brand "globusmen" was absolutely legitimate. After doing a thorough job of investigating this, for very good reason , I am satisfied that these are kosher razors.

Thanked: 4942The old ones had very distinctive logo work etched or washed on the blade and stamped into the tang. This blade etching looks like the modern generic Solingen wash with etchings into the tang vs. the traditional stamping. When the C-Mon name was sold the razors changed dramatically from what they originally were over here too. I think the Dovo folks made the last batch of those.
Have fun,
Lynn

I made what I though was a reasonable offer on one of the 7/8's and it was accepted so I'll get to see what they're like.
I noticed that the listing has this pic now which at least show the branding on the other side of the tang.
Also, the Paypal account of the seller is Thomas HerrigerLast edited by johnmrson; 08-06-2011 at 09:34 AM.
