I think he has the two areas mixed up, the buyer, not KING2011. King, I hope this information I found in the Wiki about hone wear will help the buyer understand about hone wear on the spine.

"There are various reasons why divergent angles may be present at the bevel. Some are fully intended, for instance when a razor was previously honed with a layer of tape attached to the spine. This is a perfectly sound method to prevent hone wear at the spine of a razor."

Here is where I found it: Bevel-setting in theory and practice - Straight Razor Place Wiki

Also, here is the SRP Wiki info on the parts of the razor to help as well: http://straightrazorpalace.com/srpwi...straight_razor

I hope Sir this information will help you resolve the issue with the buyer. IMHO, I think the buyer has the parts of the razor confused.

I wish you the best in resolving this.

No, I did not hone with a tape. I just set the bevel and make honing on Coticule then finish on JNat. The bevel setting was pretty easy because there are no chips and damages on the edge thet need to be removed.

    Thanks.
In any case I hope that I will be able to resolve this mystery with a buyer.
I saw his latest acquisitions on e-bay, he bought few razors on pricey side so I can not belive that buyer is newbie who does not know much about razors....but maybe I am wrong.....or maybe buyer think that he overpayed the razor and now try to find reason for refund (partial or full)?????
I try to shave with that razor and it is great shaver (very smooth one)...I hope that all problems will disappear when buyer make test shave....

At the bottom of your listing you stated that if there were any questions to contact you. If the buyer thought, from looking at pictures 6 & 8, that there might be issues he should have contacted you.
I agree with whoever said to ask the buyer to expalin (specifically) what and where he finds the issues to be with the razor.

As for his other recent purchases. He might just have the extra cash to spend on "things", but none of us know.

I hope this all works out for the best with everyone happy in the end but either way this is an issue you have to deal with whend doing buisness, on the internet or in person.

    Once again,
Best of luck with this issue

I see nothing there that would constitute unreasonable wear. I would ask the seller to photograph exactly what he is talking about and email you the photos.

Looking at your pictures, I suspect the buyer is talking about the pitting at the edge that is visible on the pictures, especially no.6 and no.8. Your listing states
The blade is in excellent condition with no nicks, pitting or rust
, so unless the photographs are really bad I wouldn't consider the razor described properly.
Here's the area I'm talking about (the blue arrow points to where I think the pitting is extending into the bevel, but that may be just an artifact of the image compression):

It is easy to get bad marks on Ebay, and so you should be as accommodating and solicitous as possible. However, I have a bad feeling about the buyer. Let's say you did hone inconsistently so the bevel is more worn in some spots. With as little hone wear as exists, the waviness has to be minimal. The real question is whether the blade was shave ready. And, the buyer didn't complain about that. So, while the buyer might be contacting you in good faith, I would be on my guard.

Maybe, offer to rehone the razor. Maybe, ask for pictures showing the problem, while assuring him that no matter what the problem is, you will fix it for him.

    Good luck!

    You're welcome.
I'm truly out of practice with purchasing on eBay, but when a person wins the bid or "Buy It Now", he/she agrees to the price listed. Unless I am wrong and there can be negotiations on the price after the win or agreement to purchase. I never sold anything on eBay, I mostly purchased and I paid the price listed along with shipping charges. I did get a couple loyalty discounts from a seller because I was a repeat buyer, but that was at the seller's discretion. I never bought a razor off eBay.
I hope it all works out.
    Again, all my best.

As long as the item arrives in the promised condition yes, the price is what the final price was. However it seems in this case the buyer is disappointed by the condition of the razor being misrepresented, but he doesn't use the correct terminology, presumably because he doesn't have experience with razors, or english isn't his native language.

When item arrives in 'not as described' condition, ebay wants the buyer and the seller to try to work out something and see if they can come to an agreement before involving ebay. If they can't, there's a resolution process in which ebay acts as an arbiter.

Back when I was looking on ebay for razors I've sent back few because they were misrepresented. Usually I'm not happy with just getting a discount because the condition is very important to me, and if it's too different from the advertised to bother I usually don't care to keep the razor.

I believe taping the edge as well as the spine negates any hone wear whatsoever...

Sometimes, I also just wave my razors several inches ABOVE the hone, this also seems to work well in reducing hone wear...
