    Default a minor rant....

i will not post a link to the auction... and i will not post or use the sellers nick.... but i will share what is turning out to be a problem....

on 9/18i bought a W&B 13/16ths blade... nice decent looking razor and i paid *(to me) a good price of ~32bucks.... add to that ~6.50$ shipping....

on the shipping and handling time it says DELIVERED in 7 to 8 days....

well... i waited and waited for a tracking #... nothing.... TODAY the 7th day i receive notification that there is a tracking #.... i check it... no movement.... simply shows they have arranged for shipping...

i shoot a quick email.... and receive this response email....

Hi, I was doing this ebay to help my parents sell their collections/etc over the years...
Recently in July my dad was diagnosed with cancer and he is in treatment and I got busy with that... I put a few things recently after sometime in hopes I'd do it, but some days are better than others... My husband actually helped in packing some of the boxes today and they'll be heading to post office tomorrow...My husband is also an ebay member******* so he knows how to do these things. Please accept my apologies.
    Regards,

maybe i am a jerk.... but i don't believe this.........

when i sell something on ebay i ship either the same day *(if the usps is still open) or the next business day *(after receiving cleared payment).... i have sold to members of this forum..

what i want to know is i want to rip them a new one for

#1 charging DOUBLE the actual shipping
#2 taking 7 days before meandering down to the post office
#3 not doing what was promised in the auction....

    am i being too harsh?

i ask the opinion of the masses....

Take a deep breath, and let it go....
Think about it, is this really something to waste negative energy on?
And for all you know, the "story" could be true.

I agree with Blix on this one.
However, I would let it show on my feedback when the product finally arrives.

Some people are very quick to leave neut/neg feedback when it may not be the right way to go. Some people sometime deserve the benefit of the doubt if their general F/B is good.

I tend to agree with you, fake cancer stories to save face happens because its something people won't question in case its true. I've seen it in my work.

However, nothing will be gained by dwelling on it.

The postage you agreed to, that was your choice when bidding however the poor service is something else. You could leave neutral feedback stating slow dispatch due to ongoing health issues of a family member. I don't think they could argue with that.

Ultimately the important thing is to enjoy the razor.
    Regards
    Nic

If you get it a few days late and the seller admits problems and apologizes, AND the item arrives as described, I think negative feedback is a bad idea. Things happen in this life to us all. A few days aint no big deal on an ebay razor IMHO. Anything which happens to any of us delays our other obligations, and ultimately will someday! I always hope that positive feedback for honesty might help someone having a tough time.
Neil Miller, DLB and Hirlau like this.
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
    I rest my case.
