Lastly, he must love straights or he wouldn't be doing this, and I figure there's a big chance he's a fellow SRP guy--and I wish him luck!

I just went back though this thread, and I have to point out that no one here maligned his services, just his use of words, also keep in mind that SRP has a "No Vendor Bashing Policy" in place. so if somebody was bashing his services I would pull the entire thread....

He can advertise how he wants, but when someone puts things out on the internet they have to have a thick skin..

It would be nice to send him an old sheffield wedge with rotten swiss cheese metal and see what happens.

Well, I'm disappointed with this thread. I thought it was some thread about the latest hone breakthrough-honing in the dark and how you feel your way through the operation.

Now that reminds me. Need to get my eyes checked.

Amen!! This hit it on the head!! I was by no way posting this to bash his service. Who knows maybe he is great at honing razors. I can only assume no one here has taken him up on honing a razor for them. I just found it amusing that he calls it a "Dark Art" as I also said previously a LOST art i totally agree with. it's great that we have this supportive community for newbies and veterans alike to discuss this wonderfully enjoyable art! Which without many guys (myself included) that try to make the switch to straights would throw in the towel and go back to the easier less enjoyable disposable plastics.

Here's one of his "promotional" videos, I can't say I'm impressed by his Dark Art skills.

You have to remind yourselves that this is a Dark Art. It is not something everyone will be able to understand or even see. There may be things going on in those videos that are taking place in a parallel universe unknown to us. Just think how our honing would improve if we could merge the Space/Time continuum with the Horizon Events taking place in Black Holes. We'd not only get better edges, but we could get it done in a heartbeat.
