Wow! I've made some mistakes in purchasing blades, but that one is just nasty. Maybe someone is hoping they can use it for honing practice…..

Thanked: 480Why are we bashing this poor blade? I know a nice NOS Filly is everybodies goal (or what ever brand you prefer) but in 150 years, after you, your sons, and the next 3 generations after have all honed on them, they will ALL look like that.
It may be rough, but unless its lost its temper along the line, it can STILL be made into a shaver. Obviously, many people over the decades thought that blade was good enough to keep sharpening. Not that I would pay that much for it, but I would still take it if you gave it to me.

The last time I was out looking for a vintage blade to restore, the owner of the shop I was in was actually upset that I was intending to shave with the razors! "But that would ruin the historical value!!!!" ....
Some collectors out there want the most chewed up and spat out blades they can find. For them, it is about owning history and has nothing to do with razor functionality.
I'm not saying that none of you knew this, but just reminding those new to the forum about the perspective of other buyers.
Hope this helped at least one soul.
JackofDiamondsIt's just corn syrup... Warm, blood flavored, corn syrup ...
