It is a nice one. I have always been curious about the "Hospital" and the symbol reminds of a fishing bobber or a Christmas ornament.
Were these made for medical use and what IS the symbol etched on the tang?

A bell. Le Grelot = the bell.

I didn't realize that my current buying habits were causing a trend!

It's just 7 French razors that I bought in the last two weeks...

I try to describe the good things as well as the bad, which seems pretty rare for straight razors on ebay. Mine seem to be the only ones that have a scuff mark on the scales or a dirt pit on the blade. Everyone else's always seem to be in mint condition

The ebay description was stated as "perhaps a true wedge"

Hospital was the founders last name.

We both know exactly what a 'true wedge' is, Martin - take a look at the pics and tell me it isn't a near-wedge! "Perhaps" is slightly misleading here - perhaps!

    Neil

I truly understand Neil, was just trying to find something somewhat unusual about this common Le Grelot.
