Sad when you think the average miner in 1890 would have to work 12 yrs to buy that razor. (Wage was probably ~2.00$ a day.)

20 bucks for this would not be dirt cheap.
    spin wear edge sharpened unevenly.
I would have to stop buying razors if that was the only one left.
But i know they are never going to run out of straights razors to buy.
Life is awesome a freind of my saids he has 3 swiss army razors.
when he finds them he going to give them to me.

Of course I cannot judge whether this particular razor is worth it or not, but when it comes to collectability of razors, you have to accept that there are different standards than ours. For one thing, collectors don't really care about the spine wear or corrosion of the blade.

Collectors care about the history of the razors or the scales. 12K is indeed a bit rich, but amounts of a couple of thousand for a razor are no exception if the scales are collectible.

Yea i agree i am not collector. I try to buy stuff at what i see to be
a true bargain and keep everything lol.
I should take the time to resell stuff i just don't want.
But who would want machinist stuff.

    Well said.

I certainly intended no offense...but I would also enjoy the laughs with a few others here.

Certainly a seller of such HIGH value razors would not expect to find true aficionados of such rarities on eBay...would they? Along that same line, if an afi were searching for such an item on eBay, might they expect to "steal" it from some unsuspecting seller for a bit less than top market value? Then again, this is discounted a full $3000!

Looks like we all missed out on the 3K discount, price has been raised to $17,400

Edit: Wouldn't it be funny if a whole bunch of people were to offer $25.00, would the seller get the point?

I would think it is not so valuable.
I hadn't thought of that, but I bet you're right. I was thinking that it might be a presentation razor at first, but it doesn't seem nice enough. I guess he might have had it engraved on his own, but that would imply some serious self esteem issues, or perhaps a really, really bad memory--like Memento level bad.

lol he raised it so he could put it on sale 50 percent off.
I should post the Premier razor i got yesterday for 15 bucks.
it's nice then that for the reasons of shaving.
it only has one little water spot on it.
Even looks like it has a uneven edge from the factory.

Seller rejected my offer of $25.00. I thought I was being pretty generous. In any case, price has dropped to a measly $3500.00. Better get it while you have a chance!
