    I am sorry it took so long to get back to your question.
    I have actually used this stone as a finishing hone on a W&B bow razor and a frederick reynolds wedge with good results! I received an altima55 shave ready razor today so that I could compare. as far as sharpness and shaveability the W&B rates equal with the shave ready from altima55. the wedge was a slightly lesser quality shave but not bad. also I use no cutting pastes after honing, just a little jewelers rouge on the canvas side for polishing the edge and then strictly leather until the next time I need to hone!

    as for the speedof cutting I would have to say slow to medium slow.
