For that amount of money, can you imagine what one of the many talented custom razor craftsmen could make for you?
You could own something very unique and handmade just for you.

Another option would be, to purchase one in poor condition ( cheaper ) and have one of the talented razor makers clean it up and rescale it for you.
I reckon you'd end up with a razor that is arguably better than the one you posted.

    Just my 2 cents..........

    Cheers,
    Paul

Be patient and keep your eyes peeled. I got the 9/8 Celebrated Barbers Use for $15.00 on a buy it now on the bay. The older 9/8 FBU cost me $80.00 off of the bay a few years back. Personally I prefer them in this original 'warts and all' condition then shined up like a new dime at a "sucker born every minute" price point. YMMV.

finding a custom made by one of the best would not be in that pricepoint.

Brian Brown has a custom available for 400 atm and the one below it was listed at 425 i believe.
For Sale - Brian Brown Custom Razors

But of course the OP may be specifically after that particular W&B and custom razors may not be his cup of tea

    Cheers,

Definitely not the case, I believe there are some Lewis razors on SRD right now around the 500 price range and Max's razors can likely be made in that range as well depending on the materials.

Yes and IIRC there are still some Joe Chandler made razors on SRD at that price. Robert Williams will make a spiffy one for you at five or six hundred as well.

    You other brothers can't deny
That when a razor comes in with itty bitty tang and a fat blade in your face you get
