I'm pretty sure those scales are gutta percha/vulcanite/rubber. Quite a find, though... Quite a find!
I recall you're Syracuse area right? Was the Dunkin' Donuts the one across the street from Wegman's in Camillus? I once got a donut there that had a staple (folded) in it!

Also, it looks like whoever got that razor for $75 decided it was a quick investment, because it's been relisted now...-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

Thanked: 2027Wgts alot.Blade belongs to me,was snagged off the bay by another SRP member with whom I traded some blades for it.
The scales were hard Rubber and not in the best shape, real funky,I re-scaled the blade in the finest Ivory I have.
Sham honed it last night to a perfect edge.Is on it's way back today.Thats the rest of the story.

Looks like it is you & me ...... probably me and couple of dozen other bidders before it is over ...... That is a bit wider than my copy. TBH, I rarely shave with mine. Too large and heavy for me unless I'm in the mood. Glad to have it though, just in case I get in the mood.

Oh hell, I'm not even bidding on that. My number just came up for the SRP custom, so all my razor money for the month is gone and then some. (Since I also bought that John Barber off ScienceGuy.
And yeah, I've had the opportunity to shave with a 9/8 and found *that* too unwieldy.-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.
