Look at the seller's other items. If he is obviously a general seller, he might not know anything of straight razors. If this is the case, the seller would probably not know anything about grinding damage. If he/she cheerfully gives a refund and has good feedback, no harm, no foul. No need to ruin someone's feedback over it. Lesson learned on buying "sight unseen". JMO

+1 on that. People should be honest and not be afraid to say they dont know. Hopefully you get your money back or something. I never had trouble with ebay but I also review the feedback and return policy before. DOnt get in on the bidding with 8 seconds left.

I had to file a claim with eBay. Seller wasn't very happy, claims that I don't know what I am looking at. His policy is no returns, but after the claim, he is now offering a refund once he recieves it back. Sent a message through ebay's resolution dept. that I shouldn't bid on stuff I know nothing about.

No biggie! As long as you get taken care of. I had 2 straights that were cracked. One almost invisible and the seller refunded me and I left him positive feedback. I guess we live and learn. I dont buy anything on ebay that is no return or as is.

I sent it back today, I don't think it would be salvageable. If you looked down the spine, the dips ground in it where pretty deep. So some serious reworking of the razor would have been in order. But if you are still interested I am sure he will relist it.

Send it back. The seller clearly lied to you.

Mind posting the pics the seller originally posted?

As you can see the blade looked like someone had done something to it. That is why before bidding I messages him to find out if what I was seeing was grinding marks.
