Are the cheap Ebay Strops okfor a beginner
I was looking at the Miller strops and plan to get one here in the near future when my budget allows me to but, for the time being are the cheap stops from China on Ebay that go for $1.97 with free shipping ok to use?

Just be ware that you pretty much get what you pay for. Most strop makers sell a beginners strop for around $15. The strop is not the best quality, but it works and you won't cry if you cut it. When you purchase a better strop, look for the ones that have replaceable leather components. These are usually attached to the strop with Chicago fasteners, just in case you happen to have an accident.

Really the only place around me is The Art of Shaving and there Isn't much there that I can really afford right at the moment.

Just get online and look for inexpensive strops , Not cheap but well priced , the Illinois strops are lower cost but a fine strop , my experience was with the 827 Tc
