Thanked: 1Steamy bathroom - will it damage blades?
With the cooler weather setting in, just a slightly warm shower really steams up the bathroom. Should I be worried about the steam corroding the blades on my straights?

Not if you prepare them properly. There are several threads on how to maintain your razors from the environment. I have mine next to the shower area, but they are coated with mineral oil after each use & rolled in a handkerchief, I have never had a blemish on the blades in 5 years of this treatment.

If they get steamy, then there will be rust. You either take measures to keep the steam from getting to them (oil, air tight box, etc.) or store them outside of the bathroom. Or install a vent fan in the bathroom.
Don't forget about your strop either, steam and water don't do them any good either. Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead - Charles Bukowski

Just to avoid the risk of steam causing issues, I don't leave my razors in the bathroom. I know they would probably be fine with proper care but I don't want to have to mess with keeping oil on the blades, etc.

I keep razors & strops in the bedroom, partly because of steam, and partly because of guests.
Keep your pivot dry!

I'm with the rest of the crew who keep their blades out of the steamy environment. So far so good.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Apply a small amount blade lube after each use.

Yes, it will. No razors in steamy environment, I think?

I rest my case.
