Thanked: 28just keep at it. you cant rush time and experience you will get that baby bottom shave. I have been at it for 4 months now and I am finally getting it. I still have a lot of improvments here and there to master. to be perfect.

Thanked: 0My main concern at the moment is the razor so I am just looking for and opinion on the razor I linked to earlier. Is it a decent lifetime razor? I know even with a new shave my shaves will be less than ample and I accept that as part of the process and can always tidy up with a disposable

Thanked: 3225I can't comment on the razor you linked to because I do not own any new Dovos. If you use the search function on this site you will come up with plenty of comments on new Dovos.
It is generally suggested the you buy from a reputable vendor that hones the razor to shave ready before sending it out. The reason being that factory edges have been found by the members here to be a hit and miss proposition as far as being shave ready is concerned.

Generally Dovo is considered a decent razor. There have been recent issues raised in threads of the odd problem but overall good. Haven't heard anything bad of boker, revisor or ralf aust razors. Do some searches of these manufacturers and see what turns up for you.
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Thanked: 0OK I did some research and price versus quality left two razors one of which was the dojo. Then take into account the the availability left just one option really so I settled on the divorce. I hope it was the right choice. I can use the other razor for practise too

Thanked: 3225OK, I guess a dojo is a dovo but what is a divorce razor?
Where did you purchase this "divorce" razor from? The reason I ask is I am wondering if you understood that in some cases a new razor with a factory edge does not have a satisfactory edge. It may need honing before use and stropping won't help it.

OK, you are letting the old razor go. Need more coffee I think.Last edited by BobH; 11-16-2015 at 02:35 PM.

Thanked: 0I really like been able to control every aspect of my shave so I intend to carry on. I just needed a decent tool to learn with so yeah. The old razor is going to be used to practice honing and stopping and I have a new strop on the way with the new razor hehe. So ya know all good
