Don't give up on the GD, I use mine maybe once a week with an edge nearly as nice as the one you bought. If you get a good one it will be just fine, there's the issue, they aren't very consistent from razor to razor.
I'm keeping it. I stropped it first, and was trying to follow instructions, but it was my first strop ever, and it still shaved me pretty good the first 3 times.

Yours still feels noticeably sharper than I think that one, might have been. I was super gentle with the stropping.

Either way it's just so much cooler. The little click lock thingy scared me I thought the blade was hitting the inside. LOL

The GD probably didn't come to you fully shave ready, that is very typical for factory edges. My Dovo came very sharp but not shave ready.

The one you got from me was honed with one layer of tape, 1k King stone, Norton 4k/8k combo, Chinese 12k (PHIG) and CrOx pasted paddle then stropped

Well I strongly feel that I'm going to really enjoy it as I build my skill up. I appreciate all the love you put into the blade.
