Thank you very much Lynn, I really appreciate it. I got the razor from Vintage Blades, so it'll be the second time you see it.
The hook I was using failed. I am renting and thought I could just use an existing hook. It was a pretty small hook simply screwed into the drywall. I didn't think I was pulling very hard. Either way I will be installing my own fastener asap.

Ouch that looks like it would hurt if shaved with.. Definitely use a bigger hook.. if a stud is not convenient then use molly or toggle bolts.

Try a carabiner attached to your towel rack/bar. Mine sit right at waist level, I doubt you'll pull a towel rack out of the wall.
Sorry to hear about your blade.

    Default new blade

well i can sympathize with you about this tragedy, i got a new razor before christmas but am still waiting for hones and strops etc befor i could use it. the darn thing came not shave ready, which is common. i have been using one of those ones where you snap half of a flat blade onto the removable section, the non strop/hone straight razor so to speak.

good luck with it once it is restored to former glory.

Well I sent it out to Lynn this morning. I'll be using the shavette until its return. I couldn't believe it when it happened. Thanks to Lynn I'm sure I'll be ready to roll in no time.

i think a lot of people have done this. most of us clink it against the faucet, same damage either way. good to know you get a razor honed by lynn. i'm jealous.

    anyway, experience. chalk it up.

I just clinked mine against the sink while rinsing and being an idiot. Just a touch of notice on the very toe, but it really doesn't affect the shaving area, so I'm not concerned. When it comes time to hone it, a quick pyramid should fix 'er right up. Heck, I had to really look hard to even see it, and at that point I may be imagining it.

Glad to hear you're getting yours worked out! I have the same blade and really like it!

Don't feel bad a couple months ago I had finished shaving with my Livi takeda and had it propped up on the counter and as I was putting my mug away it slipped right onto you know what and put a perfect series of about 5 chips in the blade. talk about crying. I'm surprised X-man didn't hear me yelling all the way up in Canada. I had to do major work on that one luckily it came out fine.
