I've been cutting by brother's hair for about 15 years and I've never severed a limb or caused any major damage either. But I guess if I was super PO'd, sitting down in my chair while I have a straight probably wouldn't be the best judgment. It reminds me of The Color Purple when she's "gonna shaaaave mister!"
But I'd like to think I could contain those homicidal urges. I'm seriously just kidding. I'd never want you to think I'd go Sweeney Todd on someone!

ok, i'm rather anti-lurking so i am forced to post here. first, chicks with blades are sexy! second, my tattoos and piercing were done by guys because i just can't find a hot chick in my area that possess those skills. if i could find one that could wield a straight too i would marry her on the spot! i have searched and searched for a female barber that would do a straight shave and can't find one. for crying out loud, an old lady shaved the back of neck with a feather and i got goose bumps, immediately followed by a nauseated feeling..... but i digress. hopefully we can get a few women involved here and create a few new stories! glad to meet the new girls!
i would love nothing more than to sit down, lean back and have my face and head shaved by a woman! followed by a nap!!!!
PS. The term chick is a term of endearment used to describe a very cool and well respected woman who can hold her own.

Mornin!
Hmmm.....I don't know where YesSheDoes is hiding out these days, I haven't heard from her for a while, but she might be busy working the circut for the knife shows, tis the season to be traveling.
I find it interesting that some of the other women are also "barbers" to family members......ME TOO ...LOL. I cut my Dad's hair for many, many years and trimmed his beard. Over the course of the years, I've had a fondness for tending to the grooming ( shaving, hair cuts ) needs of my significant other at the time.
Even now, with my Husband "who does not shave at all"......he leaves all that to me. Every two weeks or so, we go out on the backporch as he sits in his chair with a towel draped over his chest, and I trim his beard, mustache....around the ears...lol......and THEN I shave up under his neckhe trusts me
but it's just a DE. This summer I'd like to move up to a straight....

Nice, Colleen! I'm sure your husband really enjoys that!
My wife always cuts my hair. I asked her if she wanted to try shaving me, and she looked at me like I'm crazy. I think she's just nervous about them.

It IS a nice ritual
Viola,
I shave my wife's legs every week and it is one of those personal grooming things that is a very bonding activity. We were in Barbados a couple of years ago and got to follow a troupe of monkeys around the jungle for a day and were surprised at how much time, how often, and with what care they groom each other. It's a very primate thing to do and I recommend grooming your mate as a good thing to do together.
Is there anything you'd like me to do, from a vendor's perspective, for women? 99% of the time I'm talking with guys about shaving.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Thank you so much for sharing this experience. That's pretty much how I view shaving, as a bonding ritual involving love, trust, and caring for personal needs. What kind of prep/aftercare do you provide when shaving your wife's legs? Which products do you use? I'm trying to see the similarities and differences, if any, between shaving other parts of the body versus men's faces. Thanks again, Howard, for your contribution. I'll give the vendor's perspective question some thought. I'll be in the car for 6 hours today, that should give me some time to rattle it around in my head!
AND LADIES...
Don is really trying to gain some female perspective/information/interest by giving us our own thread in the "General" section of the forum. I'd really like to see this succeed, so if you have time, PLEASE just stop by to say hi. It's a real honor for SRP to want to try this out.
The title of the thread is "Women on the Forum"... here's the link

Thanked: 11I've shaved my wifes legs just the once with a straight ... As Howard said it makes for an incredible feeling of closeness. Though I must say it was also a very nerve wracking experience for both of us. She was a little freaked out, not being in control is not something that comes easily to her, and I'd never put a straight to somebody else's skin before. I can tell you knees are very tricky things to shave, now understand why she always nicks herself there when she uses her Venus (One of these days I'll persuade her to at least use my now abandoned DE if not use one of my straights)
As far as prep goes I thought that if its good for my face then it's good for her legs - She had a bath, then I lathered with my Trumpers Coconut soap and then post shave I used some Coral Skin food.
