Thanked: 0Consider me, Tried using a straight once about 10 years ago at the age of 18 but wasted my money on a cheap pakistani POS which may have ripped out a few hairs, but i'm pretty sure it didn't cut any. After revisiting the idea, I decided i'm not buying until I can afford a DOVO, three weeks later, I'm no closer.

excellent karma!
What a great idea! I'm a new member tossing my hat in the contest -- I want to get my boyfriend a straight razor kit (he's been hinting for ages!) but I have NO IDEA what to get. I've been reading all these posts trying to figure it out, but a ready-made newbie kit would be ideal! I wouldn't want to spend over $ 100 and get the wrong thing.
Whoever gets it, best of luck to them and to you!

Hey Mark,
I hereby withdraw from the giveaway. This morning I received a really nice a shave ready C.G Werner 5/8" round point full hollow with bone scales I recently bought. And my personal hero Bart not only offered me to hone one of my old blades but offered me two blades he restored himself to lend for a while. Therefore I'd feel ashamed to participate in this raffle. There are ppl who need this more then I do.

Thanked: 1I wish to be considered as the recipient of the shaving kit. My first shave was with my dad's straight razor and I can not recall ever having a closer shave than when I used that razor.
I inherited my dad's razor several years ago after he passed away but it was not able to use it before it was lost during a nasty divorce. I currently own no razor and hope to relive those days.
Thank you for your consideration.

Thanked: 199Hi all, I'm new to the forums, and in my attempts to find a thread for introductions I ran across this one, and figured "what the heck."
Anyway, I have been considering the change to a SR for quite some time now, and being a lover of all blades, I take pride in maintaining my knifes and keeping them as sharp as possible.
I honestly can't think of a reason why I would deserve to win this contest, but I can guarantee the equipment would be loved and cared for, and put to good use. And would ABSOLUTELY be passed along once I can find my own razor. I plan on making a strop eventually, and have been looking at the repair forums, so that I can rescale a decent blade and make it "my own."
Anyway, if I ever find an Introduction thread, I will post there right away, so wish me luck! Cheers all, and I look forward to reading all the great posts on here when I can get my son to let me hehe
