Last bump before the decision is made. I plan to print the thread out tonight for review by the selection committee. Good luck to everyone who's entered.

I am new with one razor and would be happy to cover cost of shipping. My wife is in school and money is in short supply with three young boys.
Thanks for the thought.

i am a newbie of the most extreme variety, joined the forum yesterday, bought a $12.00 razor of somewhat dubious quality yesterday as well.I am interested in wet shaving for the obvious fiscal, environmental, and aesthetic reasons, but I am also in search of a life long hobby to enjoy. I work in the construction field, where gainful employment seems to have gone the way of the dodo. so i am a bit strapped. quality equipment is out of my income bracket. would like a starting point to be able to expand upon until such time as i can pass the honors on.

Thanked: 0I would like to be considered for the free starter kit. I have been wanting to get started with a straight razor for months now but do not have the money to buy what I need. I guess you could say that I am "stropped" for cash. Sorry, that was a corny joke. I am willing to buy my own stuff down the road, but need to try it out first so that I don't waste my money. This kit would be a dream come true for me, and would really help to get me started. You guys are the greatest for offering this starter kit. Of course, I would pay the shipping and would pass it on to someone else once I got my own equipment. Thank you for considering me and good luck to everyone else that entered. God Bless.

The decision has been made!
Well, the entries have been reviewed and a decision has been made. I have to admit that after reading the entries my wife thought it would be easier to assign numbers to each entry and allow the roll of a die determine the winner instead of having to choose. In the end my daughter ended up swaying the vote.
Drum roll please….
The chosen winner of the free kit is

My daughters reasoning behind her choice, and the reason the votes were swayed, is because the kit was to be a gift, and she thought that it was especially nice that the person entering the contest was not asking for the kit for themselves but for someone else. Who can argue with that?
I’ve just sent a message to the winner to get shipping information. Once postage has been calculated and covered I will ship out the box to the lucky winner.
Thanks to all who participated. I may have a few other razors that will be looking to find new homes after they’ve been cleaned and honed. It’s more fun and rewarding to pass on razors this way than it is to post them on the ‘bay.
Regards,
