I rinse under the hot tap, wipe clean with a cotton face cloth, then do my post shave tidy up, I then clean and dry thoroughly with toilet tissue, and place it slightly open in my now clean and very dry (I make sure) shave mug, in the spare bedroom/office on a shelf next to where my strops hang, I keep my Razors and strops away from the bathroom because I dont believe the humidity is good for them, everything I use in my routine is in the bathroom cabinet, i.e soap/cream, alum block, after shave balm, cologne etc, with the exception of my brush, that sits bristle down in a nice brush stand.

I have oiled the blades before now, but find it a waste of time, and the pivot on 1 of my razors gets too loose if oil gets in there, and a str8 spinning in the scales is not something I like to worry about

I should add that I do apply the oil to the blade taking care not to get it into the tang or pivot mechanism of the SR.

I really like the look of that rack you made, especially with that old strop acting as a cushion. It also gives it a very distinct look. Good on ya!
