    First, as has been asked, Where did you purchase the razor? Second, assuming the razor truly was shave ready, did you strop it before shaving? You may have dulled the edge with improper stropping. Third, have you read and followed the advice in the "First Straight Razor Shave" wiki?

    There are a lot of variables that could be in play here. It could be the blade, it could be your technique, it could be your bear prep and so on. If you tell us a little more information then the experts can step in and help.

    The most important thing to do right now is just take a deep breath. Whatever is going on that's preventing a comfortable shave, can be fixed.
