Thanked: 5So far I've only got 1, a 6/8 Dovo Special.
I plan on building some more confidence using this blade before I venture to buy another.

There is nothing wrong with that. Wisj we could all be happy with just a few. BUTTTTT!!! Im over 40 with shave ready plus a TON in other boxes wiating to be cleaned and honed. Ok here's the catch. I started shaving with them for 10months ago but been collecting for 20 years. All started when i recieved my grandfathers Razor.
Enjoy the ride.

Thanked: 0I've been in this about 3 months. Lynn fixed up my Grandfather's razor and I bought one shave-ready.
Then I bought 7 blades to restore and rescale, but haven't finished any yet.
So 2.

SWMBO is an antique collector/dealer so that's my excuse for having so many-she keeps bringing them home for me, not that I'm complaining.
I have 6 vintage straights that are shave ready (two of those are about to be), 2 shavettes, and about 60 DE razors. I've been DE shaving since Jan 2010 and straight shaving for about two months. At the rate I'm going we'll need to build an addition on to our house to accommodate my collection.

Thanked: 9I own a very old G. wolstenholm, a Hollinger, a Wapi and one that has a very strange looking blade/point on it that is pretty old and has no stamp markings, and soon a Dovo Best quality 6/8.

All of my straights are vintage 1960's back... (Not sure about my Double Arrow)
I think I'm up to about 8 or 9 in the past 4 months of collecting...Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

I'm reasonably new only at it for about a month, I have 1 disposable blade Personna... it was a gift. But if you learn with that you can learn with anything, because that thing is not forgiving. But, i have a J.R. Torrey 5/8 on its way. so i guess technically 2.
