Yeah I hope to find a decent one soon.

Been re-reading this little booklet recently. This really is a lot of good stuff and it gets better re-reading it. I probably should print it out to have it handy.

Thank you . Great read. Amazing how things evolve.

I do think it's a mild abrasive that smoooths it out a bit. I am currently trying to run a bit of an experiment where I am keeping track of stropping and trying to find if lengthens time between having to use CrO2. If the experiments works I will post the results.

This book is very direct and almost aggressive- especially in its tone towards safety razors, hehe. Second, it seems that razors and other paraphernalia had different care instructions that some items do these days. For example, rounding a square point straight blade to a slightly rounded one on the edge of a hone. :O

And third, it seems like some info is just a tad dated. This isn't a shock of course but there we have it.

Now for those of us who want to be further along... check out THIS book!

Wow, another great read! I searched for a few other barber books and got a nice list. It will take awhile to find the relevant ones, and even longer to sort out the better ones from the worst.

    Internet Archive Search: barber

Already found a few that look promising.

What about just using normal chalk? Would that make a difference to the edge?
I ask because for one of my classes I actually have a blackboard (the others use whiteboards) and I wanted to steal a piece of chalk but didn't really have anything to use it for.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!
