Tabac is one of the best shave soaps for the price; you can't go wrong with Tabac (unless you are a freak of nature who dislikes the pleasant, old world scent).

I ordered a puck of Tabac yesterday! The 125G puck should fit nicely in to a Mug I have. The Harris and Fine Soaps fit perfectly in to an Old Spice Mug. I have 4 of them. a 90 or 100g soap fits in it very nice and tight. For TOBS I shaved it a bit. put the shavings in to the bottom foe the mug and slid it right in. I have found that instead of a grater of you use a cheese slicer, the flat silver kind with a slot in it that you just pull across the end of hard cheese is perfect for fitting a puck in to your mug.

Right Now my go to is Harris, TOBS, and Fine American. I like any fragrance that reminds me of an old time Barbershop.

This is a nice thread about everyone's favorite creams and soaps, and of course, they are all excellent recommendations.

I agree that Castle Forbes is what MdC is for soaps, the king of the hill. There are many other very nice creams. One that doesn't get mentioned that much on this forum is Stone Cottage Soapworks (their newest formulation). These creams provide excellent slickness and post shave feel, and the scents are wonderful. You can purchase a sample pack of six creams for $10, with each pack enough for several shaves. My personal favorites are Bayberry, Coconut Sandalwood, and Oriental Wood. These are excellent creams for a reasonable price.

My favorite is the "Kent" it's made by the same peoples who make the "Mitchell's Wool Fat" but with a little different fragrance.

I would try Speick stick and one of the Al's shaving creams , which in my opinion are both underrated .

I agree, anything that smells like an old time barber shop works for me! I have several soaps I like, TOBS peppermint and sandalwood are favorites. For my work travel (which I do a lot) and to keep things small and packable, I like Cremo, the cooling variety. This is a peppermint also and smells and feels great during the shave. I have a bay rum soap that I like but the scent isn't as strong as it could be (maybe that's just me).
