+1 on the time thing. If I'm pressed beyond the ability to even do 1 or 2 passes with a straight or DE, there won't be a shave that day.

Having said that, I gave up my DEs and do as many passes with a straight as I have time for or the closeness I desire.

If im tooo pressed to time i just make my lather like i do while showering, and used the 5blade i have still from b4 i str8 shave. ifi dont have time to shower, i dont think it would matter if im clean shaven lol...

Thats why I have a Merkur DE as well, for those days when I'm rushed. I also have a couple of shave sticks which are a little quicker to lather than soap in a dish, because I just wet my face, rub on the stick and work it with the brush.

I've been known to use my DE with just water on my face on days when I'm in a real rush, and overslept or something. I only go WTG then though. Its not the best shave, but it stops me looking like a scruff..!

+1. Exactly what I do when rushed (or when my daughter desperately needs to occupy the shower for half an hour or more which amounts to the same thing).

When I'm in a hurry I grab the DE or one of my razors,
I still get a nice shave...

then I just drive faster...

If i'm in a hurry I lather on my face and generally will do one or two quick WTG then I'm good for the day, but not perfect.

when i'm in a hurry i just go 1 pass wtg or not at all if i'm still looking descent enough IMO

I've found a solution I can live with. If I'm really, really running late, I choose to be late for work. My boss never complains because I'm usually still there an hour or two after the office closes anyway.

Two or three pass with a Merkur Slant Bar DE; face lather with a tube cream (Musgo or Palmolive) & Vulfix Nylon Brush (you'd be surprised at how good this brush is in this situation )

I generally will just look scruffy, but if it is getting to bad I do what most of the reply's have been saying is just one WTG pass. Makes a fairly presentable shave when comparing to the rest of the guys at work. This is why I have a tube of Proraso and just hand lather it on my face, it makes things a little quicker, not the same as warm lather and a brush but it works in a hurry.
