No way! That's a Texas icon. Middle aged women with huge hair that wear ridiculous quantities of makeup, constantly chew gum and call everybody "shoog". To totally fit the mold though they have to drive a Suburban.
The older I get, the better I was

Is it true that Texas has an express lane for Capital Punishment ? I think i heard that from Ron White on the Blue Collar Tour.

    Ha! Wow, that's hilarious.
Good point though - There's more than one law out there not worth following then! I'll keep my razor and sexual variety.

I do not think it would be wise to walk around with one in your pocket on a daily basis.

I remember watching an episode of Cops a while back and a guy was arrested on the strip in Las Vegas for having a straight razor in his back pocket.

The interpretation of a law is up to the law enforcement officer. Individual municipalities, I believe, are able to set their own laws. If you do not agree with their decisions, then you can take it to court and start spending lots of money proceeding up the long ladder of decision makers who interpret the laws.

I would rather just spend my money on razors and not lawyers. Also, who has the ultimate decision? Individual states rights or the Federal government.

Even if it were illegal to own a straight, I can't think of any cop that would go around enforcing this. I, for one, have way too much on my plate

I agree, razors are much more useful than lawyers and cheaper.

But it's prohibited to carry a fixed blade (or lockable blade) of more than 3" in a public place unless you have a professional need (like a chef).

    Default Straight Razors in TX

Here is a website in TX that sells straight razors. I would check with the local PD to see if str8 razors are legal. I could be wrong...but I believe they are legal. If you google "Are straight razors legal in TX", you will find several sites providing information regarding this subject.

I wouldn't go looking for bureaucrats with rule-books to ask permission from.
