Thread: Why's it Illegal?

With our present political atmosphere, it is likely the growing popularity of straight razor shaving will incite legislators to "protect us" from yet another potential danger but then think of the safety of children living in those households which allow such dangerous practices.

In yakima washington it is illegal for beauty shops to use them but only because of the potential to pass on the bad bugs associated with blood.

That's good because beauty shops shouldn't TOUCH a straight razor with a ten foot pole. They aren't trained in the art of shaving.

You can disinfect and sanitize any straight razor, shavettes or cut throats. I could transfer blood born diseases with a pair of shears just as easily.

You, I and everyone else knows that but the government only cares about covering its own backside(I see that everyday at work). I would have to agree i would not want any of them coming near me with a straight.

It is NOT illegal in PA for a barber to use a straight, FYI. Not sure where you guys are getting your information but straight razors are not an illegal weapon so therefore they are not illegal to buy. Using one in a barber shop is a completely different scenario.

My 77 year old mother(A licensed beautician at 20 years old)would so kick you where it counts for this statement LOL!Until I was 19 she was the only one to cut my hair and shave me,all with a straight razor!She uses a Fromm set with removable guard and disposable blades.In between hair cuts it's up to me and the other customers to shave ourselves.but a hair cut always comes with a shave if you want it.I can tell you her shaves still beat mine,and I'm 43 this year.
