Welcome to the forums! There's a great group of guys here, willing to help you out with any questions you may have. I've been straight razor shaving for about 3 weeks now, and I've improved a lot just from the information and help found here.

    See you around!

    Default Welcome

Welcome Brother, I am only about a six weeks further into straight razors than you are. The information and advice that is posted on SRP by experienced shavers has greatly increased the life of my styptic pencil. It should now last at least as long as my razor...

thanks for the warm welcome guys..

just got done with a nice lil shave..

my biggest issue is trying to go ATG with the right side of my lower neck, it grows directly towards my ear and i cant fit a razor there..

ah well, for now ill keep focusing on technique..

the best thing for now is that i have my beard so im really just trimming and cleaning up.. even trimmed up my hair line today LOL (i wear my hair very low as well)..

    anyways.. off to read more!

Piece of advice from one noon to another. Whatever you do, don't mention hanging hair test(hht) or taping the spine while honing. It tends to be a slippery slope on this site.

I don't see what's the problem with talking about either of these. The questions are valid and all of the experienced guys will tell you the exact same thing (and have done so in countless of threads).
Then there are the inexperienced ones who think they've discovered something really important and would argue ad infinitum a logical fallacy based on their lack of experience. And if not corrected it ends up as misinformation that perpetuates itself. There are plenty of other similar issues which tend to originate in other forums where people with little experience act like experts and the unfounded speculations are left to run amok without being challenged.
