Thread: Exclusive Straight Shave?

DE when I hit the snooze button more than once, otherwise it's a straight razor 97% of the time for me.

I was just curious since I was able to get myself some sweet gillette de's that I won off ebay. I am planning on using them for those in between shaves when I feel like being lazy lol.

Tuesdays and Thursdays I typically go to the gym before work, so I must (unfortunately) shave w/ a cartridge. Weekends are almost always SR shaves. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are SR or DE, depending on my mood (and how much time I have).

It's either been a straight or a shavette for the past 5 years.

In the past 2 years I used my straights exclusively. Only twice did I use something different. Once was while on vacation in Paris(shavette) and the other time was when I found my dads old de razor.

Since it arrived in the mail, it has only been straights.

I only use a Straight Razor to shave. If, by chance I don't have a lot of time, and need to rush the shave, I skip it entirely. 100% open blade/Straight Razor shaver Amen. I don't even own a DE.

I shave about every other day with my Straight, if I am going to be rushed I skip the shave.

I didn't know so many guys used it for everyday shaving!!! I guess Ill have to keep practicing till I can get my speed up.

Exclusive straight shaver here. I made up my mind from the very first shave that THIS was the only way to go. If I couldn't get it super smooth, oh well! Guess I need to deal with it because I wasn't going to shave with anything else!

That kind of attitude (for me at least) forced me to take my time and really concentrate on what I was doing, because I wasn't going to use anything else to clean up any missing spots!

In the beginning, when razor burn was bad, it forced me to go more days in between shaves to heal, but that also made me want to read up and pay attention for my next shave so I wouldn't repeat the same mistakes. Now I shave roughly every 2 days. I used to go longer in between shaves with my disposable, but I go through withdrawals now when I wait that long now!

I use my straight for 95% of my shaves. Its only when I'm in a real rush that I use the DE.
