ok.. a small update... For anyone who has ever done macro photography then you will know what I am about to talk about... When shooting at such a magnification the slightest movement will throw the images out of focus... with that in mind, I set up my gear and linked it to my laptop to capture and also so I can see what I am doing at the same time... Weeeeeelll it is definitely not as easy as it sounds when its on your face. and I was trying to be as careful as possible while making sure I stayed in the focus field (using a flip 50 is all manual focus)... I looked awasy for a moment and got knicked... was bad.. just a tiny nip, but anough for me to realize that it wasn't going to happen.. My wife is an autofocus only type person.. so I am going to try again tomorrow only I am going to use my arm... I will be able to lay my arm on the table and it wont move out of the field... I guess since I test my blades on my arm hairs anyway it can't be that much different.. I DO NOT recommend macro video of the face while shaving.. hahahahah..

Thanks for the photography details. (My original post here asked for photo details, and somehow missed the details right above. Embarrassing.)

What you describe is exactly why I haven't pursued the shave cam any further. The depth of field is almost impossible to work with while moving, and to watch a monitor while shaving leads to nicks. Fortunately I sliced my thumb, and not my face.

Ok one small set back but hasn't stopped my research. First I would like to say that even though it gets a bad rap I like my mac 100%, and although there are very few viruses for it one found my computer. Sadly I got complaisant. I am doing a complete recover right now zeroing the hard drive then using time machine to put it back. Takes a little time but I should be able to put the images and video up that I captured this weekend. You guys will be surprised at some things I discovered.

I think this is a great thread. Good luck resurrecting your Mac. I look forward to your pictures.

Alrighty.. I have a few images and two videos... I will make my comments at the end...

These two are examples of BBS.. This is actually what it looks like right after a shave..

these are 24 hours after a BBS shave

    Here are two small videos

This is a pass or two or three with a Dull blade..

This one is a simple WTG pass

Now if you are keeping up with my confessions of a blade thread there is some pretty good info there about the microteeth on the blades edge and how important they are.. I have a few more blades that I am restoring so I will probably experiment a little more and hopefully I will be able to get some other videos Like ATG and XTG with and even sharper blade... Can never strop too much...

Wonderful stuff! I can almost hear the whiskers screaming. Keep 'em coming!
