THANK YOU people of SRP!
Soo Ive been using the SR and all the assorted "stuff" almost daily since I started one month ago. There have been ups and downs between my beloved razor and me, but were working things out. Some days it would have been easier to just sever the relationship, but quitting is for....quitters.
Anyhow, if it wasn’t for the excellent people on this site, I would have said to hell with this after my first bout of flaming- it hurts when I touch it- razor burn. Because of the info in this site, I was able to figure out what the many things I was doing wrong and correct the problems.
So because of you guys, I now have a handful of pretty cool vintage razors; an appreciation of taking time in the morning to relax BEFORE work and an assortment of Manley smelling skin care products.
AND if I can add anything I learned by myself, I should cut down on my coffee intake prior to shaving. A jittery hand is in no way beneficial to a good blood-free shave.
So this morning, I lift my coffee cup to you the great people of SRP!!
Have a great Day!

It sounds like you have it figured out now, but if not....
Just stick with it brother. It does get better. The skin irritation is most likely from your angle, or even you pressing to hard. Don't forget to let the razor do the work.
You need a good After Shave Balm for the burn. If you have the means, TOBS Sandalwood luxury aftershave gel is awesome, It's like vasaline, and has a strong old time Sandalwood scent, that lasts and lasts. It's one of my favorites. Speick Intensiv cream is good for AS burn too.
Good luck, and hang in there.....We have assumed control !

Well thanks for the suggestion on the TOBS. So far, my fire-neck was a result of too much pressure, too great of angles and my OCD of going over and over a spot trying to get a single wisker. God willing, it will be awhile before it happens again.

Like Zib said, keep at it the shaves only get better.

Glad you decided to stick with it. I disagree about the coffee though! My morning 6 shots of espresso are a must for me, must help with the focus, haha
