Default Don't Forget Your Razor is Sharp!!

Was just doing a bit of clean up on my razor, applying a thin coat of oil as I do after every shave. I guess I've gotten used to holding the razor in my hand, carelessly I wiped the razor and gave myself a nasty cut. Not that I felt it. It's a clean and might I add, a very bloody cut. Infact it was hard to get it to stop bleeding. Lesson learned lol. Pay attention always with your razor or it will bite you!

What's the worst cut you've received from your straight?

    Spare no bloody gorey details.

Worst cut I ever received was when my blade angle got too steep on my cheekbone, and it basically peeled up the skin like I was peeling a potato. The skin laid right back down, but I ended up with a scar 3/4" long across my right cheekbone.

On the up-side, it's a nice looking scar that you could make up all sorts of interesting stories about.

I have very poor eyesight due to a detached retina and subsequent surgery when I was a teenager. My vision in my right eye is 20/150 with glasses.

I was trying to touch up a spot on my left cheek and got a bit too close to the mirror trying to see what I was doing. When I bumped the mirror, the spike point dug out a nice 3/4" x 3/4" chunk of my face. A styptic pencil barely slowed the bleeding. I got it slowed down and went to work, but it kept weeping most of the day.

Watch the area right below the nose! I was laying the blade (carefully i thought) to shave my upper lip, and nicked one of the vertical ridges just below my nose. Like to never have staunched the blood flow. Was about to head to the doc for a stitch, but finally managed to seal it with super glue after about an hour of trying. Lesson learned, and needless to say that area commands extra attention.

Not too long ago I was shaving, and mid-stroke I had a sneeze sneak up on me. Left an almost 3 inch slice from just under my eye down towards my ear lobe. After a lot of styptic paste it quit bleeding. Some Neosporin and vitamin E oil and the scar is almost invisible.

Wow, those all sound painfull...maybe you guys should not be allowed to play with sharp things. All joking aside, I seem to cut myself more often with kitchen knives and the scissors compared to my razor. However, the worst cut to date with my straight occurred when I was switching hands on the razor not paying attention to where the edge was and managed to cut 2 fingers so fast and smooth I didn't notice until the blood started flowing,
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

I know. Another 1/2" and I would be wearing an eye patch to go with the scar.
