Thanked: 1I think that your response shows a lot of character. It takes courage (or a committed relationship with a woman) for a person to admit that they're wrong. It probably would have been much easier to save face (and self-esteem) by ignoring the responses in the thread and not posting for a while, or even deciding thay SRP was full of morons no longer worth your time.
Thank you for being classy. It's an easy thing to lose, even with the anonymity afforded by the Internet.

try some auto chrome polish. dont be shocked when you use it and the rag has a gray color to it, thats just impurities being pulled out of the metal.

I've had good luck with cleaning goldwash using the Honda motorcycle spray polish. Since goldwash wears away quickly even from just handling the razor during a shave, gentle action w/ a soft cloth is best. It won't remove any corrosion that's already started, but does seem to safely clean the area.
When I clean up an old blade with no goldwash, I'll use a well worn 3m scotch brite pad (well worn as in most of the abrasive quality has been greatly reduced) wetted w/ the spray polish, and this cleans up alot of gunk, corrosion, etc.
BTW, your razor looks very nice. I'm a bit of a fan of the Wacker blades.

The issues you have will not effect the performance of the razor one bit. Wacker is a quality brand and a lot of care is used when making them. They are not massed produced.
As others have said...I don't think the issues you are facing have anything to do with the razor itself. Unfortunately, it's probably user error. I bought an 8/8 NOS Dorko. I had not used it for a while. I knew instantly when I opened it back up that I didn't remove all of the moisture prior to storage. A little polish removed most of the staining.
I live in Central PA so moisture isn't a huge problem here. I don't have all of the my razors coated with oil. The razors that I don't use in my current rotation are stored with oil. I dry the blade with TP with a squirt of alcohol (I use grain alcohol, but others will do) to evaporate any remaining moisture.Last edited by gssixgun; 09-22-2011 at 04:05 PM. @Retro 123: I noticed you live in Odense, which is not far from the sea shore IIRC. The air near the sea usually has a higher salt content than more inland. That might contribute to your issue with rust.

Let this thread be a good object lesson to everyone to "look before you leap". You might think you have been wronged and are entitled to go after someone and put things in motion that could be injurious to the other person and then you learn facts and issues you were not aware of and it turns out your actions were totally unjustified and you may have caused injury to the other person that might not be so easily undone.
