Thanked: 334Parker:
I was writing of my own experience -- what thread are you referring to? What is the thread's title?
ROTY is awarded (or ought to be) to each season's best new shaver and/or SRP member. The prize is an official "Attaboy" chuck on the shoulder -- you can't find those in stores!

Question. When just regularly storing a razor, for like 3-4 days between shaves when I get the hand of it, can I use trumpet/brass instrument oil on the blade?
So, this is Parkers Dad!! I was very impressed with Parkers first shave. He did really well... thanks to all of you. I was jealous so I decided that I would give it a try this morning. I failed. Here is the proof.

Thanked: 334Parker's Dad:
As an old teammate used to say, "Less than 10 stitches doesn't count." Gotta be careful w/the blade, buddy! Are you game to try again? We'll help you!
Parker:
I don't know about trumpet/bass instrument oil. I use mineral oil or WD-40.

As my Aussie friends say, "Good on ya, mate!" If you have any questions, this is a great place to ask them!

Good for your dad! I'm sure that I'm older than he, but we old fart's can learn a new trick here or there! I think that there may be some differences between the son and father shaves.
1. As you stated in the original post/your are simply removing 'peach fuzz'!
2. Your father has a lifetime of much heavier growth to try to remove!
3. I'm wondering if your father has done the research that you did? Perhaps 'you' can show him where you learned what you have! I'm going to be 59 in less than a month and all of my children come up things that I learn from!
4. With the above said, I enjoy learning from my children/it's kind of 'What goes round, comes round'!
Good Job Dad!
