Thanked: 485Yeah, agreed wholeheartedly. I was thinking myself you need to keep it away from your brother. I put my razors away in the boxes they came in or my three-razor case. I went to great extremes to find a three-razor case; because back then I was adamant three was all I needed...I've now doubled that to six; with one DE.
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I've been watching this post and just checked back in and found the video! Good job son!
My own son was 17 when he decided to take up the art about two years ago! He didn't get a cut, nick or razor burn and he insisted on disregarding my advice and did a full shave! He could even use both hands! I did have to do a little touch up for him for his first go at it he did well!!
Welcome to a wonderful new way of life!
While I've tried to read every post I don't recall seeing where you live! Let us know because one of us may know a fellow member who lives close by!

Thanked: 1Park, you've grown up!
LIKED! the video. Who was that guy filming it? Voice seems familiar.
Sounds like my baby brother, if you must ask.

You my young friend are a very fortunate man! Hands on learning from Max will teach you more in a day, than you could learn from reading in a year. This advice comes from experience as I learned so much in just a few hours at the NW meet in Spokane just watching Glen (GSSIXGUN) than I could believe!
Keep us posted on how you are doing! Oh! hang onto that video of your first shave with a straight! It'll be great to show others years later!
Before I leave I'd also like to thank your parents for allowing you the opportunity to start to learn the art! Many parents wouldn't have done that in this day and age!

Plus +1 to all involved. This thread is so cool.... I have my youngest son shaving with a Single Edge right now, waiting to graduate to a straight, and he just turned 21. He only needs to shave 3 times a week (got my genes, poor guy) but he is beginning to like it. Wish I had that kind of a start. I suffered for 40 years before I found this place!!!!
Good luck little buddy!!!
Hammer-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --

Thanked: 1Thanks for ratting me out, youngster!
I've got some stories to tell you, about daddy's first time shaving.
Hint, happened at Grani's house in Sunnyvale, when Dad was 3 or 4.
Parker, you've got GUTS to try a straight razor. I still haven't tried one.
Oh, your Forum decorum is VERY GOOD! Wish everyone on my old
Forum was as good.
See you the next time I'm in Vegas.
