    Gentlemen,

A great shave tonight for me. With another go around at the uberlather with success. Although it did not produce massive amount of lather it produced a very creamy smooth lather that felt great!. I went for a two pass shave tonight with WTG and XTG passes and ended up with a very smooth shave all around. I would also like to mention I picked up a hopefully good find on the bay here is a link. J. Wostenholm & Sons *EBRO* Straight razor | eBay
I also have a thread in the Ebay/ auction section. Let me know what you think. It should be here sometime this week and I will send it out to get honed so I can test it out!

    Cheers

Another great shave tonight guys. My lather is becoming sooo delicious. One down side. After everything was shaven and smooth. No nics. I wipe my blade off and sort of slip (some how) and sliced the tip of my index finger. I guess it had to happen sometime. Not to bad but still not how how I wanted to finish my day. On a brighter note my J. Wolstenholm EBRO should be here Wednesday. I will post pictures when it comes.

    Cheers my men!

Rod is cheap. Like $3 for 6 feet of 1/16" brass at the local hardware store cheap. Washers, well, they are kind of pricey, but you try to cut out all those little washers and you'd gladly pay double!

Btw, that last comment was tongue in cheek. They aren't too bad. 100 washers takes a while to go through.

You are right. The price isn't bad for how many you get, but it was I think 8 dollars to ship the pins and I think I just got 2 12" rods. That to me is pricey. But you know what I am just excited to do my first "restore" then send off the razors for honing!! Good thing I have a budget else I would have a serious case of RAD. I am glad I have all of you for the support.

    Gents,

Every shave is getting better and better.. My stropping felt very smooth last night with minimal wrist turning and only flipping the razor between my fingers. I am most excited about my lathers. I receive yesterday my Art of Shaving shaving cream (lemon scent which smells and feels amazing! but kind of expensive yet very worth it in my opinion) and created an ultimate uberlather with my bad frog soap. It was flowing dense creaminess out of my mug with every swirl. Im very fond of the uberlather and not sure if I want to try a traditional lather in fear of not getting the results I get from uberlather.

On another note my J. Wostenholm *EBRO* should be here today after it got "missent" yesterday. I am excited to see the condition of it and to send it out to get honed with my W&B. If my washers and pins get here I will possibly try to tear down clean thoroughly both the Wostenholm and the W&B and re-pin before I send it off for honing, but we will see. Pictures to follow.

I think using an Überlather is a really good way to go when starting out. It's fun, feels great and works well. I think especially for a beginner shaving with a poor lather can be trickier than for a more experienced shaver. However, sometimes I think one 'danger' is making the lather too frothy. I think it's important to be able to see what's happening, too. Too much lather can also means it flicks everywhere and you end up a bit disorganised, and that's when silly accidents happen...

Agree... I need to man up sooner or later and practice face lather and traditional as well... I just enjoy my new shaving cream scent with my bald frog soap...

Well I did a dry run of taking out the pins to repin and clean my W&B and One scale snapped. :-( I'm glad it wasn't my wostenholm horn scales. Eek. Not sure what I did wrong I think the bend in the pin was to much for the scales. Any recommendations on a good file to use?
