The point is that after the "time factor", the grinding & and chemical means of cleaning , a piece of steel that hasn't been exposed to fresh blood is pretty damn sterile or tens of thousands of us would be in hospital.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 1160Dare I suggest that someone now makes a blade with the runic enscription on it that says one blade to shave them all and maybe put the name precious on the scales ??? Dare I suggest that someone makes a blade with sting scrawled on the blade and pearl inlay on the handle resembling elven zoomorphics. .....just sayin !

I clean with alcohol and soak in a mild (1-2%) bleach solution for 15min before any of my restoration gear touches the blade. It might bring a little rust to the surface but it cleans right off with any polishing compound. That's guaranteed to kill anything remaining on the blade.
