You will find as many methods for wiping the lather off as there are members. personally, I just rinse under hot water. I avoid wetting the pivot area and am careful enough I don't hit the razor in the sink or faucet. If you think you will have problems with sink strikes then just use a towel. In the old days barbers used either a towel or those neck tissues that seal the cape to the neck or used the cloth cape itself. Really whatever works for you. Just make sure the razor is 100% dry before putting it away.

I just use the hot water just as thebigspendur. Just be careful and pay attention, and most of all, take your time.

Personally I rinse it in cold water, but be very careful with the towel, a small distraction and you could harm the bevel
