Thanked: 1160Semogue........Good brushes !
So I have heard off and on about these boar brushes made in Portugal. Was very curious and been lookin all over the web at different models and reading reviews here and abroad. Finally, ordered a model 1305 boar and it just came in today. First use a bit stiff, but no funky smell at all and is already softening up. Love the retro look of this brush and it's plenty good size. I have it hanging next to my Col. Conk badger which is a good size brush also. I must say it's very well made and quite handsome. May have to try one of their badgers down the road when economics permit. And for those new here and curious, this boar is every bit as enjoyable as a badger. Just a different experience is all but very nice. Good on ya Semogue !

Thanked: 3225If you like it now just wait till it fully breaks in. It really is an enjoyable brush to use and has one of the most comfortable handle designs to use. I could also recommend their SOC 2 band badger if you want to try one of their badgers. I have both and like them.

Nightblade, the Semogue boar bristle brushes are shaving wonders. You have one of the coveted models, the 1305, which is as sweet as a boar brush can get once broken in. I have two of the same model, one with the handle in the Italian flag colors, from the Italian Barber, and with bleached bristle. You might be careful with the handle colors chipping, though, if you knock the brush against the mug wall. Good stuff.

Thanked: 1160Thanks Obie...as for knockin the brush, Hmm never really thought about it, but I think i'm okay in that dept. good to know just the same though. I'll keep an eye on that. I think I may get to liking these here Portuguese brushes. Now that I think about it, the Portuguese don't get enough credit for their contributions to the world. They were master sailors(probably still are) And their food is deeeelish. MMM Linguica sausage mmmm !!! I like how you say coveted.....for once I can own top of the line and not break the bank ha ha . Cheers !

Thanked: 1160Second shave with this gem....stiffish..but definitely softer from last time. The shave was divine. I really can't say enough good things about this brush now. New guys.. seriously, if you can't afford an expensive badger and need a good brush, these are what you might want to look at. Just a good brush all around.
