This is exactly what I do too. Hope I didn't make anyone think I shampoo my brushes twice a month or anything. I do not put it up full of soap and or leave it dirty in anyway which is where I thought the OP was talking about. Now if I am going to use a vintage brush I bought yes, it is going to get a bath even if it fights like a live badger :<0)

I don't shampoo either, but rinse with warm and then cold water and flick and dry on a towel, as well.

Try it sometime, you might be pleasantly surprised at the difference

Not going to happen because I know there will be zero differance on how the brush makes lather.

Whatever happened to the buy one use it and replace it when it dies principle. Why not buy it then don't use it at all it should last forever.
I don't have a seven day set, but I've got six that I use in rotation. One boar, the rest are badger.

My thinking is, let the brush, especially the knot, dry before using it again. As an example, I've got a set of the SRP Thater brushes offered in 2011. That's $280 worth of brushes. I cannot stand the thought of hard use until they die. With care, I think my grandson should be able to use them.

I'll further confuse things. After using a brush and rinsing it, I don't hang it to dry. I stand it up. That's right. Capillary action pulls the remaining water up from the knot to the tips of the bristles where it evaporates.
